Kinsmen Club of The Pas cleans up again!!!

The Adopt -a-Highway Project was brought to The Pas Kinsmen in 1998 and we have faithfully picked up garbage on PR287 between PTH 10 and the Clearwater Lake Airport access every year since,

‘This project is one that the club looks forward to every year, not only because you can see the results but because it is one our members can bring their whole family out to take part in.’ states Life member Gary Kozun, ‘Every year we collect about 100 bags of garbage in our 11 km stretch of highway.’

The club will met this year on May 13th at 10:00 a.m.at Camper’s Cove in the Clearwater Lake Provincial Park and 52 kinsmen and their families broke into teams that will each picked up 1 km of road. It took about 2.5 hours for all 22 kms of ditches to be picked up

“I can’t tell you how proud I am of our members and our families for braving some cool damp weather to come out and clean up this road for the 20th year to ensure that northern Manitoba’s most pristine provincial park has a beautiful clean access for the summer,” notes Kinsmen President Kevin Carlson.

In 2015/16, the Pas Kinsmen provided $29,035 in donations and support to community groups and 3,187 volunteer hours. We look forward to growing and providing even more in 2016/17.
